2008 was the 53rd year of the Annual Saundersfoot Road Trial, the event was held over the weekend of 19th, 20th & 21st September
Friday Evening 19th September 2008 – 7:30pm Friday evening get together and enjoy a few drinks with old and new friends
Saturday 20th September 2008 – 9:00 am Bikes enrolled at the Harbour for the event
start. Bikes and Cars leaving the harbour at 10:00am at 2-minute intervals. Competitors
returned to the Harbour from 3pm onwards after a
challenging and interesting route approximately 75 miles around the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National
Park The morning route skirted the Bristol Channel and Milford Haven Estuary coastlines, with a lunch stop inland at Nantyffin in Llandissilio. The afternoon route meandered through the hills above Whitland before dropping down the the coast again and approaching Saundersfoot from the east. The event Dinner Dance was held at the Merlewood Hotel with dancing until the early hours. An
auction of celebrity gifts was held that evening and £450 was raised for
Wales Air Ambulance.
Sunday 21st September 2008 – 9:00am Many competitors met at the Harbour, with lots of bikes and cars on display for Concourse de elegance and the general public to view, Concours Prize Giving Ceremony was at 11:00am. Some bikes left the Harbour at 11:45 for Lunch and a short scenic route to Pendine
All vehicles were pre 1983 and were Veteran, Vintage, Post War, or Three Wheeler and
elected to travel at
